Why does this button exist?

The Artist's Way (this site) was created to make Julia Cameron's method accessible to people who couldn't afford a paid course or a personal coach. That's why it is and will stay free.

But free for the user doesn't mean free to produce. There are real recurring costs — server, domains, storage, bandwidth, analytics, translations, illustrations, code maintenance, support. And there's time: every new blog article, every update to the 12-week course, every reply to a user.

If the course helped you and you'd like to make sure it keeps existing and improving for other people, this is how you do it. No obligation, no pressure, no counters or gamification. Only if you feel like it.

How much should I give?

Whatever you decide. There's no minimum and no right amount. A few reference points:

Where does the money actually go?

Full transparency. Each euro/dollar received is roughly split like this:

"The course will stay free no matter what. But if you want to make sure it keeps existing and improving, this button is the most direct way."

Frequently asked questions

Is this a donation or a purchase? It's a voluntary contribution to the project. You're not buying an additional product or unlocking extra content — the full course is available free for everyone.

Can I contribute in my currency? Yes. Stripe accepts cards from any country. The amount is automatically converted from euros to your local currency at payment time — you'll see the exact equivalent before confirming.

Will I receive anything in return? My gratitude. If you leave your email when paying, I send a personal note when the contribution arrives. Beyond that, no hidden content lives behind the payment: everything on the site is public and free.

Can I cancel? These are one-off payments, not subscriptions. You pay once and that's it. If you need a refund for any reason, write to me and I'll process it without questions.

Is it tax-deductible? No, this isn't a donation to a registered nonprofit. It's support for an independent private project, so it's not deductible.

Why Stripe and not PayPal or Patreon? Stripe has the best UX (card + Apple Pay + Google Pay in a clean checkout), low fees in Europe and the US, and zero friction for the user. PayPal and Patreon are valid alternatives but with a worse experience.
